Do you ever feel any sympathy towards a thief? Definitely no I guess. But after reading this journey you will certainly feel something more than sympathy.

Liesel Meminger and her foster parents are the main characters who live in Molching, Himmel Street, Germany in the time of Hitler. She is not like the traditional thief rather she steals to feel the words.

Her journey starts at a very young age in the graveyard at the time of her brother’s funeral. Besides her stealing, this novel gives the clear picture of the cruelty of Hitler. Life is very difficult when death is far easier in Liesel’s world. Speaker beautifully describes each part with his wiseful writing that will engage the reader till the end. Maybe this book will not teach you anything but shows you the value of a war-free world. A war takes everything and gives nothing. You will find friendship and humanity throughout this fiction which makes this book more realistic. I guess hold one’s good nature is very difficult in a difficult situation.

To know the second world war and its reality through a story, this book will always remain in one’s good choice.
